WIN@sea out among the youth

Young people are key to tomorrow’s green solutions – and that’s why it’s important to meet them where they are. With the dilemma game “Win at Sea”, WIN@sea has focused on dialogue, learning, and fun experiences that engage the next generation in the sustainable use of the ocean.

The first stop was the Science Festival at Kattegatcentret, where hundreds of students from local schools and high schools participated. Two lucky classes won a prize: a full day at the center with the game, seaweed chips, and cola – because learning is simply better with snacks.

Later in the week, we took part in Green Innovation Week (GIW) in Skive, organized by Green Innovation Makers. GIW is an annual event that brings together several thousand young people from across the country for workshops, presentations, and activities focused on climate, green transition, and future solutions. Here, the students had the opportunity to play “Win at Sea”, learn more about sustainable use of the ocean – and, of course, taste seaweed chips from SeaMan and seaweed crispbread from Havsmag.

On stage, we also talked about the potential of seaweed as a food of the future, which sparked curiosity and thoughtful questions.

It was a pleasure to meet so many young people who were both curious and engaged. It gives good reason for optimism about future conversations on the ocean and its possibilities.
