Last week we gathered in Kerteminde at Fjord&Bælt for the final physical meeting of the 4‑year WIN@sea project — as we now enter the concluding phase of the work.

With four months left, the focus of the meeting was clear: discussing results, impact, final steps — and, importantly, the communication of our results.

WIN@sea has been a remarkably strong collaboration. The partnership across research, industry and stakeholders has been constructive, ambitious and genuinely rewarding. Together, we have built a shared knowledge base that will contribute to moving multi‑use in offshore wind from concept to reality.

Over the past four years, the project has delivered:
– Tangible learnings on logistics and safety in offshore multi-actor collaborations
– Scientific evidence that food grade seaweed and mussels can be cultivated within offshore wind farms
– Micro-siting tools for optimizing site selection for low trophic aquaculture within windfarms optimizing yields and nature-restorative effects
– Mapping of governance barriers to realizing and scaling offshore multi-use co-production of energy and food
– Method development for quantifying biodiversity
– Peer‑reviewed publications, public reports, teaching material, a board game
– Presentations at major national and international events, bringing multi‑use into broader public and policy discussions

As we move into the final months of WIN@sea, the momentum continues. The next steps will be crucial for translating R&D into sharing space at sea for production of renewable energy, regenerative food and nature restoration.
