The WindEurope Annual Event 2025 in Copenhagen brought together over 15,000 participants, including top industry representatives, ministers, and senior policymakers. This year’s conference focused on the theme: “Scale up, Electrify and Deliver”, emphasizing the need for big decisions and a determined push to transform Europe’s energy system. With more than 550 exhibitors and 350 speakers, the event provided a platform for intense debate on how the wind industry can meet ambitious targets while ensuring Europe’s competitiveness.
Environmental topics were central to the WindEurope 2025 conference, reflecting the critical role that wind energy plays in tackling climate change and fostering a sustainable future. Several sessions covered sustainability, circularity, co-existence, and environmental impacts of offshore wind. Vattenfall, a wind developer and our project partner, presented the WIN@sea project in the environmental impacts session. The talk highlighted the potential to expand low-trophic aquaculture within wind farms in Denmark and beyond, creating synergies among industries to lower costs and emissions, involving local communities to drive innovation and create new jobs, and providing environmental benefits like marine regeneration.
It was fantastic to have such wide exposure at a well-attended event and to be able to share our initial findings and experiences on multi-use of ocean space!
